Creating a Masked Background - Round 1

Cottage_rose_masked_bkg_kkh

Hello my friends,

Welcome back to my little corner of the web. All this week I'm sharing how to create a "masked background". I love this technique as you can create simple yet elegant or simple yet adorable cards with minimal effort and they all pack a punch.

Today's card was created using Stampin' Up! masking paper and Framed Floret's Dies along with a blending brush. Just cut an oval shape from the masking paper and place over the Basic White panel and apply layers of ink with a blending brush. Once you achieve the desired saturation of color, remove the mask and stamp the image and the sentiment. Finally, attach all the layers and add them to the card base.

This card is so simple, yet elegant and is perfect for the beginner stamper as well as the most experienced stamper.

I hope this card inspires you to try a simple ink blended background with a mask.

Happy Stamping,

Fancy Flora Birthday Fun Fold (Angle Cut Gate Fold)

Fancy Flora flat
Hello friends! All this week I'm playing with the Fancy Flora Suite collection by Stampin' Up! This entire collection is absolutely beautiful and is so easy to work with, just stamps ink and paper and you can create absolutely gorgeous cards. Here I made a "fun fold" known as the "Angle cut Gate Fold".

This stamp set is a 2 step photopolymer stamp set which makes doing the 2 step stamping so simple and easy. When you can see through the stamp, you can easy see where to line them up for perfect results every time.

More Perfect Partners - This Birthday Piggy

Perfect Partners
Hello friends!

Happy Labor Day! Here in the states, today is a national holiday to celebrate the hard working folks that keep our industries going. It also marks the end of Summer, which is always sad to see go. We had a low key day here. It's one of those rare occasions that both hubby and I were off together, unfortunately, he worked a 16 hour shift last night so didn't get home until this morning. He's been doing a lot of those lately. Apparently, the department of corrections is short staffed these days. So the guys there are having to pick up the slack. Poor hubby is napping as I type this, trying to get as much sleep as he can before it starts all over again tomorrow.

Anyhoo, this week I am focusing on another of the Perfect Partners bundles, This Birthday Piggy! OH MY GOSH! These guys are too cute for words. Of course, I love piggies anyway...I have a small collection of stuffed and ceramic/porcelain piggies all around the house.

This Birthday Piggy fun fold

This card is a really simple fun fold (you can watch the FB Live replay here)
It features a couple of different techniques, water coloring and ink blending. If your a fan of the piggies, then this bundle is for you. Just remember, these coordinating dies are only available for September.
