Water Shaker Card with Seaside Shore

Hey all and Happy Tuesday! Well as promised, here is the 2016 Catalog retirement List:
It's sad but true. We all know some good things must come to an end, but just know, it's to make room for some pretty AWESOME new stuff. I can't share with you just yet, but just as soon as I can, I will. In the meantime, here is a card I worked on over the weekend. I did a little sneak peak on my FB page Sunday night, but here it is in full color.
This is a water shaker card. I used a 3" x 4" zip lock bag filled about 1/4 full with water and a drop of Marina Mist reinker behind the "window" to create the water shaker. I included a link to these bags on Amazon if you're interested in them. I did some water coloring with my ink pads and Aqua painters. My little "Angel fish" is popped up on a dimensional to add a little more dimension to the card. For full instructions watch the video below.

I hope you enjoyed this card and I thank you for stopping by. Please leave a comment below and let me know your thoughts. Have a great day and happy stamping,
Katrina

The Remarkable Ink Big Hop - Retiring In-Colors with Beautiful You

Hi there and welcome to the April 2017 Blog Hop! This month, we are featuring the retiring In-colors that will be going away at the end of May. You may just be getting started here on my blog, Stampin' n Scrappin' from the Heart, or you may have arrived from the hopper previous to me in the list. If you get lost at any time, the line up is below, just follow the links from blog to blog to see all of the wonderful projects from our talented demonstrator friends.
My card today is featuring my most beloved In-Color from the collection, Mint Macaron. I actually love all of the colors in the 2015-2017 In-Colors, but this one just makes me smile and draws me in unlike any of the other colors. It's hard to explain, but I just LOVE this color. Today, I mixed it up with the awesome stamp set Beautiful You found in the 2017 Occasions Catalog and went for a bit of a monochromatic effect.
I used the 2015-2017 In-Color DSP paper stack to do some paper piecing for her dress and hat, and tacked them down with a little Fast Fuse and using the reverse of the same sheet of DSP, For her skin, I colored her with the Pink Pirouette Stampin' Write marker and added a bit of Sahara Sand by just dabbing the marker.
I added a strip to the card base as an accent. I really hope you enjoyed this card. Please leave a comment below. I would like to thank you for taking part in our hop, there are so many amazing and inspiring projects to see that you will not want to miss out on, so remember, you are currently at my blog, www.snsfromtheheart.blogspot.com, so check out the list below to see who's next in the line up and be sure to go there next. Feel free to leave comments along the way as we all love to hear your thoughts and again, thank you for stopping by and happy stamping,

Paper Pumpkin - You Won't Want to Miss This!

Hi there! Today, I want to talk to you about Paper Pumpkin. I LOVE Paper Pumpkin! It is an all inclusive, crafting subscription that comes to your door every month. It is convenient, compact and has the makings of some pretty awesome crafty projects. Some months are cards, others months are 3D projects and other months, it's a combination of both. But every one is a fantastic surprise in my mailbox that I look forward to each and every month.
Here are just a few of the benefits of a Paper Pumpkin subscription:

  • The convenience of an all-inclusive kit arriving at your door every month
  • Exclusive photopolymer stamps every month (you will never see these designs anywhere else) and the opportunity to build a collection
  • Crafting time you can count on with zero prep work involved - it's all done for you!
  • New techniques to try
  • Lot's of extra "goodies" in the box that allow you to create and craft alternate projects
  • An opportunity to get together with friends to craft every month (every box contains enough material to complete a minimum of 8 projects - but you will want to encourage them to get their own subscription because you will want ALL of your projects and materials)
  • As a member, you have the opportunity to purchase past kits and refills to extend the fun and craftiness
  • You will LOVE the quality and the variety of the projects each month
  • You will easily build your ink color collection as every kit comes with 1-2 ink spots (mini ink cubes) and the colors will not repeat for 12 months!
  • There is no obligation, you can cancel at any time. It's also flexible - you can hold for a month or 2 and resume when ready or you can order an extra kit (great for holiday time)
What makes this month super exciting is that our very own CEO, Sara Douglas was given creative control over the design of the kit. And if you've ever had the opportunity to watch Sara in a FB live or any YouTube videos, you will see that her personality just shines and you know, her kit is going to be OVER THE TOP AWESOMENESS! Her style is "bold, vibrant and artistic with a little bit of sass" thrown in for good measure. And if that wasn't enough of a reason to join Paper Pumpkin in time to get the April kit, she is including a FREE gift with EVERY kit this month! Aaaaaaannnnd, to put it WAY over the top, the ink spot included in this kit is a brand new 2017-2019 In-Color! So, everyone receiving the April kit will get a preview of 1 new up-coming In-Color, that's a first in the history of In-colors! UH-mazing!
So, in order to get in on the April kit, you must join by no later than Monday, April 10th. If you decide to join after Monday, your first kit will be in May, which will be awesome too, but will not include a new In-color and will not have a free gift. And, I almost forgot, if you join Paper Pumpkin with me, using my link, ALL of my subscribers receive (after their 4th kit) a decorated Wood Mount box to store your stamps and ink spots. And, if I reach my goal of 5 brand new subscribers, I will open up a FB group and we will have live Paper Pumpkin parties each month to share alternate ideas with each other and maybe a prize for Best Idea? Hmmm, this could be fun. So, recruit your friends and come join me for some Pumpkin fun!

Happy Stamping,

Easter Tweet with Stampin' Up! Little Cuties

Good Morning and happy Thursday! Wohoo, we're almost to Friday, which means we're almost to the weekend! Well, today's card comes from the Little Cuties stamp set and the name fits perfectly as these stamps are truly, "little cuties". I love them. Anyway, with Easter right around the corner I decided to make an Easter card and I decided to use the sketch challenge from my Facebook page as my layout (hint - kill 2 birds with one stone! ;))
I also decided I wanted to work with some of the retiring In-colors since they will be going away soon and I LOVE them sooooo much. I'm really going to have to stock up on these before they're gone for good and if you love them as much as I do, you should do the same because after April 10th, when the retirement list is released, once they sell out, that will be it, they will be "while supplies last". Sad I know, but we also know "all good things must come to an end" and in the case of SU!, it just means more good things to come. Just making room for brand new awesomeness!
To color this little chick, I used my blender pen and the Delightful Dijon ink pad and for her little tiny beak and legs, I used the fine tip of the Watermelon Stampin' Write marker from the 2015-2017 In-Color collection. I adhered all of the layers flat using fast fuse however, I did pop the little chick up on a dimensional.
I hope this card made you smile and encourages you to pull out your In-colors, grab a sketch and play with a cute stamp set yourself. Play around and have some fun. Have a great day everyone and happy stamping,
Katrina
